Guide to Storytimes

Who doesn't love a good story?  Public libraries and bookstores host free story times for children that can breathe life into old favorites or make you discover a fabulous new book.  Browse the list below and pencil the dates of local story times in your calendar so you are never without a great story.


Public library systems:


Aladdin'??s Lamp in Arlington- Story times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11am and designed for ages 2 ?? to 6 years

Borders and Barnes & Noble locations- Visit the website and call your local store for a schedule of storytimes.

Hooray for Books in Alexandria- Story times for ages 2 and under are held on Fridays 10:30 a.m. and story times for ages 2 and above on Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Karibu Books in Bowie- Story times are every 3rd Saturday of the month
Location: 15624 Emerald Way, Bowie, MD

Politics and Prose Bookstore in DC- Story times at 10 am on Monday mornings

Tree Top Kids- With multiple locations in the DC Metro Area, stores offer a variety of storytimes.  Visit the websites to get information about times at the store closest to you.
