Favorite Bedtime Reads

November 17, 2008

Our bedtime ritual is always the same- bath, jammies, tooth brushing, and a game we like to call Library of Congress for our 2 year old who loves to read almost every book in his room at bedtime. While he loves to read books like Eating the Alphabet, stories of diggers and construction sites, he always ends up choosing many of the bedtime themed stories right before falling asleep.

What's on our bedtime reading list?

He likes animal related bedtime books such as Goodnight Gorilla where he gets to say goodnight to all of the zoo animals and Sandra Boynton??'s The Going to Bed Book because of the great rhyming. Goodnight, Baby is another favorite because it is an interactive book where he gets to tuck each of the different baby farm animals into their beds with their mommies. He also likes Ten in the Bed and laughs when each of the 10 animals fall out of bed but likes when they snuggle back in at the end.

Bedtime stories about rabbits are also of great interest. He likes to read along to the classic Goodnight Moon, listen to Hush Little Baby which is inspired by the lullaby, help Pat the Bunny clean up and get ready for bed in Pat the Bunny Sleepy Bunny, and enjoys Runaway Bunny.
