Savvy Guest Thien-Kim Lam's Tips for Keeping the Fire Burning All Year Long
February 13, 2009
Today's Savvy Guest is Thien-Kim Lam, a mother of a three year old and a Passion Consultant since 2004 who is here to share some ways that you can keep the romance alive all year long.
It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Again. Romance and sex are probably the last things on your to do list. After all, sleep is much more exciting. I’m right there with you. Days are now filled with work, school, play dates, laundry, and picky eaters. Shouldn’t your honey be happy with a peck on the cheek, maybe a hug?
Romantic gestures don’t have to be big and flashy. Knowing that my husband thought about me and made the effort makes me feel appreciated. Remember those hot and heavy pre-kid days? They don’t have to be a faint memory. Most women love intimacy and cuddling, but lovemaking is an important way men reconnect with their partners.
Keeping a healthy balance of the two will keep your fire burning brighter. So how do you fit both into your busy life? Make your relationship a priority. Find a sitter (or take turns with a friend), and try something new.
Dress the part. Wearing luxurious lingerie is always a winner. Silk is so sensual and decadent, you’ll feel sexy. Wearing garters and thigh highs add instant glam. Don’t worry, your partner still finds your body hot. Candlelight hides all those parts you worry about. (Try Tasty Temptations Massage Candle)
Change the scenery. Take things out of the bedroom. Skip dinner and make dessert together . Then feed each other—naked. Go dancing together, whether it’s the club scene or a swing dancing. Shower together—don’t forget the lube! (Pioneer Woman has easy recipes)
Rock it old school. Grab your favorite flavored lip gloss and have a make out session. You decide if you want to go for a homerun. Rent a sexy movie and skip to all the naughty bits. (Movies to add to your queue The Secretary or The Lover)
Join the 21st century. Send naughty text messages. Hint: Pick up some milk doesn’t count. Just don’t send them to your partner’s work phone or email. (Not sure what to say? Texxxt Message Seductions will get you started)
Write it down. Open your calendar. Pick a day. Draw a happy face on that date. Congrats, you’ve now just scheduled sex. Think planning your lovemaking is boring and pathetic? The anticipation will get you thinking about sex. That’s first part of foreplay. Your partner is going to be just as excited—it’s a sure thing. He or she will work extra hard to get those dishes cleaned so you two can hop into bed early. (Don’t be shy, pick 4 or more dates per month. You’ll like it. I promise.)

Father's Day has always been special. Whether celebrating my own Dad as a child or now with my own children, my husband, and grandfathers, it is a day to show the men in our lives how much we love and appreciate them.
